Community Relations

Active in his community of adoption, Cornelis Hollander supports a large number of charitable and cultural organizations. Close to his heart are charities working to alleviate disease and suffering. He supports American Cancer Society, he has been the main sponsor at the "Jewel" Ball for two consecutive years. He also is involved with cancer research and drug discovery through the IFADD group, the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society, as well as the American Liver Foundation. He supports women's and children's causes through donations to IMPACT for enterprising women, and Make A Wish Foundation, and the elderly through The Hadassah, the "primetimers' group." He is also involved with the Alzheimer's Association and continues to support the March of Dimes project. He also took part at the event "FIESTA DE LAS MADRINAS" CARS for STARS (Scottsdale Training and Rehabilitation Services) to help the Handicapped. One of the big projects is usually the "Fight Night" at which Muhammad Ali and Michael J. Fox are present, this fundraiser helps the Parkinson's Disease foundation.

Cornelis Hollander is also committed to the arts and art students. The popular Scottsdale Center for the Arts with the annual event "Artrageous" is one of the venues that receive his attention in the cultural realm, as well as the "Beaux Arts" event at the Scottsdale Artist School and the annual event that the Art Renaissance Foundation holds.

The rescue of animals never being too far from his thoughts, he likes to help organizations such as FACCs (Friends of Animal Care and Control). He usually designs award winning medals for the deserving dogs, cats and horses and presents them to the winners at the special night call the "Hero Awards".

He also got involved with the "ALTERED TAILS" project for which he and other artists painted or decorated dogs and cats and auctioned them off at a special event during the "Raining Cats and Dogs campaign.
